PRINCE PHILLIP: THE 30 GUESTS ATTENDING THE DUKE OF EDINBURGH’S FUNERAL HAVE BEEN ANNOUNCED

Today the guest list has been announced by Buckingham Palace ahead of the Duke Of Edinburgh’s funeral on Saturday.

Due to Coronavirus restrictions it means that the ceremony has had to be scaled down, the original plan was for an estimated 800 people to attend however this has had to be reduced to just 30 to ensure guidelines are met.

Many of the Duke Of Edinburgh’s closest relatives will attend however his great-grandchildren which includes Princess Charlotte and Prince George – will not be there as they most probably thought that they would be too young for televised proceedings.

The funeral will take place on Saturday at 3pm.

Here is the full list of all the attendees:

The Queen

The Queen was his partner of more than 70 years. The Queen described Prince Phillip as her “strength and stay” and many have said just how special their relationship and their bond was.

He first caught her eye in the summer of 1939 when Princess Elizabeth was just 13 years old. He was the Prince of Greece and five years her senior, about to embark on a career with the Royal Navy.

Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall

Prince Charles is the son of Prince Phillip and the Queen and Camilla is the Wife Of Charles. Charles from the age of three became first in line to the throne. Today Charles and Camilla visited public tributes left at Marlborough House. In a recent broadcast Charles said “My father, for I suppose the last 70 years, has given the most remarkable devoted service to The Queen, to my family and to the country, but also to the whole of the Commonwealth.. My dear papa was a very special person.”

Princess Anne and Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence

Princess Anne was the daughter of Prince Phillip and they were extremely close. Following his death, she shared a statement saying that she was not ready for his passing and described him as “my teacher, my supporter, and my critic”. Joining her at the funeral will be her husband Sir Timothy Laurence, a retired Royal Navy officer.

Prince Andrew

Prince Andrew is a son of Prince Phillip’s and The Queen. Prince Andrew stepped back from Royal duties in 2019 following a bombshell interview regarding his relationship with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Speaking out in public for the first time since stepping back from Royal Duties, On Sunday Andrew said: “The Queen as you would expect is an incredibly stoic person.

“She described his passing as a miracle and she’s contemplating, I think is the way that I would put it.

“She described it as having left a huge void in her life but we, the family, the ones that are close, are rallying round to make sure that we’re there to support her”.

Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex

Prince Edward is the youngest son of The Queen and Prince Phillip.

The Earl of Wessex paid tribute and said his father had the “unique ability to make a lasting impression in a remarkably short time”.

“I, like all my family, have a lifetime of lasting impressions, inspiration, shared passions and love,” he said.

His wife, Sophie, has shared a close relationship with the Queen and tearfully told Sky News outside Windsor Castle that the monarch has “been amazing” since Prince Philip’s death.

Prince Edward will eventually inherit the title of the Duke of Edinburgh.

Prince William & Kate

Prince William, the grandchild of Prince Phillip and also the future heir, will be part of the procession bringing the duke’s body to St George’s Chapel, so he will travel separately from wife Kate. Their children won’t be attending.

Prince Harry

Prince Harry is the grandchild of Prince Phillip, and the brother of Prince William. He has already travelled to the UK from his home in California and is currently in quarantine ahead of the funeral.

It’s the first time he has returned to the UK since the bombshell Oprah Whinfrey interview he did with his wife Meghan, in which they made several allegations towards the royal family.

Meghan won’t be attending the funeral as she is pregnant and has been advised by doctors not to travel.

Peter Phillips

Peter is Princess Anne’s oldest child. His father is Anne’s first husband, Captain Mark Phillips. Captain Phillips did not have a royal title therefore Mr Phillips was not given a royal title at birth.

He was the first legitimate grandchild of a monarch in more than 500 years to be born without a title.

Zara and Mike Tindall

Zara is the second child and only daughter of Princess Anne.

Zara will be attending with her husband, England rugby player Mike Tindall.

Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi

Princess Beatrice is Prince Andrew’s oldest daughter. She is ninth in line of succession to the British throne, followed by her sister, Princess Eugenie. During the summer of 2008, Beatrice volunteered as a sales assistant at Selfridges. She also worked at the Foreign Office’s press office for a period of time without receiving a salary. 

She will be joined at the funeral by her husband, a property developer who she married in 2020.

Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank

Princess Eugenie is the youngest daughter of Prince Andrew, she will be attending alongside her husband.

In a tribute to her grandfather, Princess Eugenie said he had taught her “how to cook, how to paint, what to read” and she would also remember him fondly for his sense of humour.

“I remember incinerating the sausages and you swooping in to save the day,” she wrote.

She added that she will look after “Granny” for him.

Viscount Severn and Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor

They are the children of Prince Edward and Sophie, the Queen and Prince Phillip’s youngest grandchildren.

James, Viscount Severn, is 13 and his older sister Lady Louise is 17.

Lady Sarah and Mr Daniel Chatto

Lady Sarah is The Queen’s niece. She is the only daughter of the Queen’s sister Princess Margaret.

Lady Sarah is herself a godmother to Prince Harry, Lady Rose Gilman,and Lady Louise Windsor.
She will be accompanied at the funeral by her husband Actor Daniel Chatto.

The Earl of Snowdon

The Earl of Snowdon David Armstrong-Jones is the Queen’s nephew. He is the son of Princess Margaret, The Queen’s sister.

He is an English furniture maker and a former chairman of the auction house Christie’s UK.

Prince Richard

Prince Richard, The Duke of Gloucester is the Queen’s cousin and a working member of the Royal Family.

Richard ended his architectural career in 1972, after the death of his elder brother Prince William, who crashed his plane in a flying competition. Richard became heir apparent to his father’s dukedom and had to take on additional family obligations and royal duties on behalf of the Queen.

The Duke of Kent

The Duke of Kent, Prince Edward is another of the Queen’s cousins. He has held the title of Duke of Kent since the age of six, after the death of his father in a plane crash in 1942. Edward carries out engagements on behalf of the Queen and is involved with over 140 charitable organisations.

Princess Alexandra, the Honourable Lady Ogilvy

Princess Alexandra is also a cousin of the Queen’s. Her mother was a first cousin of Prince Phillip, also making Princess Alexandra and Prince Phillip first cousin’s once removed.

The Hereditary Prince of Baden

Commonly known as Bernhard, Hereditary Prince of Baden is a German nobleman and heir to the head of the House of Baden. He is the great-nephew of Prince Phillip.

Prince Philip himself was German through his mother’s side and this part of his family was always close to the duke’s heart.

The Landgrave of Hesse

Prince Donatus is the head of the German House of Hesse, into which Prince Philip’s younger sisters Cecile and Sophie married.

Phillipp, Prince of Hohenlohe-Langenburg

His grandmother, Princess Margarita, was the Duke of Edinburgh’s older sister.

Countess, Mountbatten of Burma

Penelope Knatchbull was one of the closest friends of the Queen and Prince Phillip. She married into the Royal Family through Norton Knatchbull, 3rd Earl of Mountbatten. The wedding took place two months after the assassination of her husband’s grandfather Louis Mountbatten, 1st Earl of Mountbatten of Burma, by an IRA bomb which also killed three others (Knatchbull’s younger brother Hon. Nicholas Knatchbull (1964–1979), his grandmother Lady Brabourne, and Irish friend Paul Maxwell).
